Colony Bars
(Tapped Out Tuesday promo)
We were hired by Blueprint Art Directed by Sam Donnelley to create an animated advertisement for an ad for Colony Bars here in Vancouver B.C. The goal was to design their mascot (Tommy the Skeleton) and have him get up in the morning and enjoy a day in Vancity with all its concrete and nature has to offer to him. Where he ends up at his favourite Bar for a drink.

HESAR

We created an animation for an Iranian /Canadian songwriter and performer from Vancouver that was limited by budget and time restraints, so we had to figure out a way to work around those restraints without sacrificing the quality and the storytelling. We had 4 months to complete it.

Here is a description of the song from the artist we worked with.

This song speaks of the hardships, anxieties and inevitable depression that affect those who leave their homeland and have to settle elsewhere. The modern rate of migration in the world is staggeringly high and more often than not circumstances surrounding this displacement and migration are laced with incredible sadness. The journey is not often taken with joy. The loneliness and sense of not belonging in the new land they migrate lands in is profound and can be demoralizing and crushing. When I immigrated with my family to Canada in 1990, I took the journey reluctantly. I cried on every plane we took and the first 3 years of settlement were some of the loneliest and darkest times of my life. But the irony was that even when I was living in Iran, I also had no clear sense of belonging. A person can be from a place with strong roots and connections and still at times feel the disconnect – a stranger in one home, and a stranger in another land.

This prelude to a film never yet made depicts the struggle of a Latin American indigenous family whose village has been under attack by the army. After witnessing the brutal deaths and tortures of their entire community they manage to flee. This scenario, although fictitious, encompasses many true stories as Latin America has a long history of genocide of indigenous people. To this day, many Latin American governments continue with brutal policies of forced sterilization, armed aggression and displacement to name a few.

I'm Free

A story about an average man with two different sides to him, both positive and negative aspects of this man co-exist in this physical plane, and at times they come close to bumping into each other. Until that very moment when eyes meet do they or at least he(the negative aspect ) come to realize something profound...what that is nobody knows...and nobody will know unless they are a true seeker.

4Real

(intro pitch for MTV)

This was a proposal for the MTV series "4real" with host "SOL GUY."
We were trying to explore a new and simple look to display the aesthetics of their logo as well as incorporate some footage from the series.
If you'll notice near the end of this, there are boxes being formed from the red lines, inside those boxes would have been footage taken from different parts of the world and the narration over top would have been describing the people, places and events of that particular show.

This used to be a Facebook game that was gaining popularity until the project got pulled.

Popcap games were onto something interesting with this concept of small-town, murder mystery except with anthropomorphic people. What we did was provide concept art and a short introduction to one of the case's mysterious murders.

Here we get to witness what happened during the time when Puckerwhip was poisoned... case 1 is all about finding out who murdered him, the whole town is suspect.

Code Red animatic

An animated modern telling of the ancient Hindu folk tale Ramayana, an epic battle between good and evil.

In our version, the protagonist (one of the D2D team members named Hanu) has been held captive by the evil demon Ravana.

This was done in a moving storyboard format
